About Me

I am a research assistant professor in the Psychology Department at Northwestern University under the mentorship of Dr. Sandra Waxman. In my Ph.D program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign I worked with Drs. Cindy Fisher and Renée Baillargeon. In my previous postdoctoral position, I worked with Dr. Moira Dillon at New York University. I study language acquisition, infant cognition, and the interactions between language and cognition during development. Some of my research questions include:

  • How does language interact with representations of objects, places, and geometry across development?
  • How do infants make sense of simple physical events, like predicting whether a precariously-placed vase will fall?
  • How do children and adults learn and update their syntax for describing events?
